Our Project

The Global Democracy Research Project

The GDrP will contribute to the understanding of the challenges and complexities of global governance, and is committed to the ideal of democratic legitimacy while exploring ways of democratizing the global institutional order.

The Challenge

The GDrP is global and multidisciplinary. It involves researchers and professionals from different countries, universities and other affiliations who will work in various disciplines and professional backgrounds and who are interested in global democracy as well as in related areas like international law, international relations, global governance, political philosophy, democratic theory, global justice, the theory of legitimacy, and global economy.
The GDrP is Multidisciplinary
The future of the Project is neither fixed nor planned. We encourage you to help us in its collaborative development.

The GDrP is open, flexible, and collaborative

It is an ever-growing project involving an open network of people gathered around a common interest and concern: the study and promotion of global democracy. It is open to anyone in the world who shares this interest and motivation and is willing to collaborate in one way or another. Everything in the Project is subject to change or evolution.

The GDrP aspires to be more than a research project. It is open to working in collaboration with non-academic professionals and organizations. And it aims at strengthening ties and generating networks with NGOs and organizations that are working in practice for promoting the implementation of global democracy.
The GDrP is not an organization. It does not involve a classic research group. And it does not involve a closed project carried out by a closed group of people.
